Battery Checkout
The lithium ion battery installed in the Gen-X RPU is incased in a smart electronic package which
eliminates the risk of overcharging during temperature extremes as well as monitoring the age and
condition of the battery itself. When a condition exists that causes the battery to be incapable of
performing its intended function, the battery monitor light on the RPU is lit yellow. If during normal
inspection intervals this yellow light is observed, the battery should be replaced according to the section
“Battery Replacement”.
